Irvine Tolerance Coalition

Irvine Tolerance Coalition is a diverse coalition of residents, homeowners, businesses, and community organizations united by a shared commitment to promoting Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) in Irvine and the surrounding areas. We work collaboratively to support policies, programs, and initiatives that create a more inclusive, respectful, and equitable community for all. Through advocacy, education, and community engagement, we strive to ensure every voice is heard and valued.

Equity

Equity is the practice of ensuring fair access, treatment, and outcomes for all people, while actively working to identify and eliminate barriers that have prevented the full participation of some groups. Unlike equality, which treats everyone the same, equity acknowledges that people have different needs and circumstances and aims to provide the resources and opportunities required for everyone to succeed.

Inclusion

Inclusion is the intentional effort to create environments in which all individuals feel welcomed, respected, supported, and fully able to participate. It involves actively involving diverse voices in decision-making and ensuring that everyone feels a sense of belonging, value, and empowerment.

Diversity

Diversity refers to the presence of differences within a given setting. This includes differences in race, ethnicity, gender, age, sexual orientation, disability, socioeconomic status, religion, language, and cultural background, as well as diversity of thought, experience, and perspective.
